happy birthday grandpa

It's my Dad's 57th birthday today and wanted to wish him all the best. Unfortunately the best won't include us this year. We miss you, your hugs, your home made perogies and your birthday cake! Rhonda will be delivering a gift to you from us Jorgensens later but we thought we would send you a bit of sunshine and Spring seeing that Calgary is experiencing another snowfall.

Love you Dad, George, Grandpa.

farewell friend

We said good bye to Carolyn early Sunday morning but I wanted to thank her so much for coming. Carolyn we had such a lovely visit I didn't want it to end. With that said, I'm sure Jude was very happy to see you.

Carolyn definitely got more and better photos but I thought I would share the few highlights I have from her visit:

The beautiful Birthday girl with the head of the Ship and our dinner.

My turn.

Dinner is served.

Meem coaxing Kate over with a baby. I think Carolyn got the photo of Kate actually with Meem.

Kate, her Pappa and her baby.

My new favorite photo of our big girls. No babies here. Kate was a lucky girl this Saturday and had a visit with her cousins while we took Carolyn on a whirlwind tour of the island. Thanks Aunty!

Next visitor... my Mom. Mom the count down is on - we can't wait!
Lots of love, Aimee

mish mash

Today was a quiet day at home - we were planning on heading to the beach again but the weather just wouldn't agree. So we watched Kate practice walking outside. She is quite hilarious determined but really playing up the "umfs" and "oofs".

Tomorrow is Carolyn's big 4-0! Happy early birthday. In the evening she and I are heading out on a Lobster Cruise. Yeah. If only I could mix the boat and lobster with some beer. I guess it's not too long now.

Here are a few photos from the past days:
Kate's first day at the beach this year.

Carolyn's first visit to the Atlantic ocean.

Me and my girl. We are going to be very busy this summer - Kate had no fear with regards to the water. I can't wait to be three months bigger trying to keep up.

My babes and the Shediac lobster.

Kate perfecting her new stacking skills.

Little Miss Personality.

Have a great day everyone!

look who's walking

Maybe it was the beach air, or it was the arrival of our friend Carolyn but Kate got busy walking today. Congratulations little lady! We're so proud of you. Take a look:

We've had a great visit with Carolyn so far and are thrilled she's here. We adults went out last night and Kate had a babysitter, then we went to Parlee beach today to walk off Cody and Carolyn's slight hangovers. And we have big things planned for the rest of the week including boats, lobsters, the Hopewell Rocks, PEI and lots more.
Calgary enjoy your 30 degrees tomorrow!

my second mother's day

I hope you all had a lovely Mother's Day. I had a day of spoils - a treasure hunt, flowers, balloons, a PVR, breakfast, a nap and lunch at Cody's friend Megan's Parent's tree nursery - Cornhill Nursery and Cafe. Oh and our delicious lunch was topped off with a huge piece of yummy Carrot cake. I'm still recovering.

The rain and umbrella were hits too.

Thanks so much Cody for all the efforts you made me feel very special. Kate thank you for all your love. I hope all my favorite Moms had some special love too.

our baby boy arrives early

Kate needed some new pajamas a couple weeks ago so off to Costco Cody and I went. In an attempt to be thoughtful in the reuse category we went looking for some gender neutral jammies so that baby #2 - our boy - could get use out of them too. First let me say gender neutral is hard to come by in size 18 months. Second may I ask, why the double standard? Girls or should I say daughters can wear boys clothes but try to suggest to a father that his unborn son wear pink and it seems to fall on deaf ears. To be fair, I don't think I could do it either.

So, sorry Kate your brother wins this one - luckily you still look cute as a button.

Have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day to my Mom and all my favorite Moms out there. AJ

this weekend

It's been close to a month so it must be that time again - time for Kate to get sick. She has a bit of a cough, runny nose and eye and a bit of an attitude. Kate's sick and Cody has to work all weekend which pretty much means my weekend has been awesome.

Last night I desperately wanted to go for dinner and just be near other humans for a bit. Our first restaurant selection was lined up out the door so it was off to the family favorite - Boston Pizza. Kate made it through an appetizer course of sweet potatoes. She loaded up on them, milk and cantaloupe and by the time our pizza made it to the table - she was done. She was everywhere, throwing her body around. So we had it taken away and packaged to go. When we got home Cody had suggested a front step picnic so Kate could just play. The game she wanted to play however was sit on Momma and Pappa's pizza box. Oh what a metaphor for what that child has made of our lives. She was not too pleased when that was a NO and so our picnic ended pretty much as soon as it had begun.

Some nights it's so easy to say good-night.

It hasn't been all bad, or should I say she hasn't been all bad. Here's our girl at some of the nicer moments (not including sleeping):

Kate making her rounds with her favorite postcard in hand - it's from Aidan, Grandma and Grandpa in Disneyland.

Later in the day sitting again with the postcard in her new born shades that she's recently enjoyed adorning.

Later yet - snack time again in her shades..

This morning - enjoying a swing in her pajamas. Cody just hung her swing (which she adores) last night and she can see and request it from the kitchen door.

Someone has bed head.

Hope you all are having a lovely Spring weekend wherever you may be.
All our love - the Jorgensen 3+1/2
