some summer

Yesterday was Summer solstice and my Mama's last birthday in her nifty 50s. She and my Dad will be arriving in Moncton on the 3rd to celebrate that anniversary and a much belated Mother's and Father's day and who knows what else. I can't wait. With that said, this Tuesday also marks our annual T.O. trip to Cody's Dad and Janice's. Love this trip! It's such a clear measure of how much the kids' have grown, changed, matured over the past year. Plus it's sun, family and pool time.

The kids completed their school year this past Friday. It marked Elliott's first year of Casa and Kate's last.  She's officially a Kindergarten kid! Elliott on the other hand asks me each morning, "Mama, tell me again how many days I don't have to go to school." About 70 Elliott. You'd think he hated school but it's clear that they both truly loved their year at Kingswood. As proof they each had several scrapbooks filled with work and photos to treasure, grand report cards, plus a lovely graduation ceremony this week and lots of special final events and moments. We are very thankful.

Here's a peak at our busy weekend.

Graduation night...
A sweet final moment with Miss Tara, Damian and Miss Julianne.

Our sweet girl.

Girlfriends. Liv and Kate.

Proud as a peacock. Elliott receiving his rose and diploma.

Kate the character.

Elliott's class counting to ten in four languages - English, French, Spanish and Korean.

Kate's class reciting a little poem. Unfortunately somehow I did not record their American Sign Language song. It was precious.

Bless little kiddies. They were thrilled with their graduation presents - electric toothbrushes.

What a smile.

Saturday night partying with friends at a birthday.

Sunday morning and celebrating Leo's 2nd birthday at the local fire station.

What a thrill each child got to spray the hose.

I think she looks like a natural.

Elliott in the back of the truck.

The beautiful birthday boy and his beautiful Mama.

Miss Ruby and Kate.

Lots of summer yet to come. I'm very excited for our upcoming adventures but I'm probably most excited about the completion of our renovations. Our appliances were delivered Friday and our kitchen cabinets arrive tomorrow (fingers crossed).  I love my contractor but man I miss my house. I miss having cups and bowls on the same floor as what is left of my kitchen.

Stay tuned.

Let's make some memories. Love CAKE

particip-action

Our little CAKE has been pretty busy these last weeks now that summer quickly approaches. The kids and I hit a park daily, the sprinklers and kiddie pool are out and all four of us have been on bikes and have been attending classes. Last weekend Cody also participated in his first sprint duathalon. It was a great morning and was pretty inspiring. In my case it inspired my spirit rather than any action.

Our climbers with Laurie's climbers at Centennial Park a week back.

Kids love to conquer - even little Leo!

Sole participant sporting a fixie and a pair of cords for the Moncton duathalon. Always the showman.

Matt (the triathlete that talked Cody into this) with his lovely wife Alissa.

Another bromance.

Me (happy to be a spectator) and my man.

The home run.

Our friends Laurie and Ryan also raced in their inaugural duathalon.

Tomorrow Cody is heading Hampton with the kids to cheer on a few of his friends in a triathlon.  Here's wishing them good weather and good kiddies!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the warm rays. aj
