pappa's birthday - part 2

Guess what Kate and I just finished making. Mmmm cake. Kate was such a good little helper.

Looking forward to gobbling it up later today with you Pappa, Cody, Daddy, Daddy Cody. And if this storm keeps you away from home know that Kate and I will happily celebrate in your honour - over cake.

XOXO

i heart a younger man

And that man is a little less young today but no less appealing.

Happy 32nd birthday my love. Our love. We thank you for all you do for us and hope you have a fun day despite work and a snowstorm. We'll try our best to take it easy on you - Kate that means you baby girl.

What a Pappa. What a partner in crime.

Kisses and hugs Babes.

looking for her own place

Our Kate is acting all grown up this week. Wednesday night she requested that we put her in her crib, once in, she started jumping around - doing tricks. Impressed with her skills she said "Watch this Cody, watch this." It came out of nowhere.  We didn't know if she knew our names - well I doubt she knows mine. Then Thursday night, same request for her crib. She starts in on the jumps, spins and then it was "Watch this Cod. Watch this Cod." She has a nickname for her Pappa. And yes I was in the room and no she didn't ask that I watch just her, she doesn't seem to know my name and definitely no nickname for me.

Today we did a little shopping as a family - can you spot what the big girl selected for herself?

Have a great week - we're looking forward to celebrating Pappa Cod's birthday this Thursday.

backyardigans

Well it's not Rogers Pass but our backyard served as a fun, safe trial area for snowshoeing with the kidlets. Donna got Cody and me snowshoes 2 Christmases ago when I was newly pregnant - so we never got use of them last Winter. Today we finally took them out for a trial run. Super fun and the kids dug it.  We only have one backpack so we had to take turns - E and I were first when the light was still good.

Here we go...

Lap #2 in our great snow.

Thanks so much Donna - like I said we all had an awesome time.
Happy week peeps. AJ

finger painting fun

We had a very snowy week here in NB so we decided to stay put and try our hand at "crafting" - as my friend Carolyn calls it. Kate does piles of crafts at her school so I figured she was getting her quota elsewhere, saving me the mess and thankless effort.  I can however tell that she's getting older and maturing as painting really held her attention this week. Elliott slept the whole time so we both were able to get busy and very messy.

Getting started.

 Forget the brush.

Super awesome.

On the Elliott front - today is his 5th month birthday.  I can hardly believe it; the time has flown. Happy birthday baby monkey! We love you so much.

we did it

After two winters of being pregnant I have finally broken my skiing slump. Today, Cody, Elliott and I went to Poley Mountain (and I am being very generous calling it a mountain) for an afternoon of skiing.  It was a lovely day out with our boy. We each took turns with E while the other skied and he was great.  The skiing wasn't bad either - very short runs but better than no skiing at all.

Kate spent the day with Danielle her lovely babysitter and is now at the pool with Pappa. He's trying to ease our guilty consciousnesses about ditching her and enjoying the outdoors without her.

Have a grand week. Jorgensen Sandwich

As I mentioned in a recent entry, getting Kate to say yes more than no is one of my New Year's resolutions. So far it's not going that well. The only time she does say yes is if you ask her if she wants peaches, a muffin or if she loves Elliott. Sweet but tiring.  We took this video the other night and it unexpectantly shows just how much she adores the word no.  I also thought my family would appreciate seeing some Kate giggles.  My family and hopefully you too.

Have a lovely weekend lovelies. xoxo aj

pappa's parenting

Cody is a little more laid back in his parenting style than I. Kate loves this as can be seen in this funny little clip. But Kate isn't even 2 years old - so what does she know. I however know that that's snow on the ground and I also know that at the end of the clip I ask "she's bleeding?" and yes she was. Oh fun Pappa - or as I call him - Good Cop.

Happy Wednesday. aj

these boots were made for walkin' ... ish

We received a little package from Aunty Rhonda and family today that contained some new boots for Kate. Luckily I caught the first few moments after Kate put them on and would very much like to share them with you.

I thought I would also include this shot taken yesterday of our little guy.  I just can't imagine any boots walking away from him in the future. That is unless it has to do with some crazy old lady in his life called Mamma.

Happy day 3 of 2011.
I mean 4.
