kate's art studio

Feuwf. Kate's 6th birthday art party - it wasn't easy but we did it! And by we, I mean my awesome team of unwitting volunteers: Donna, Candace and Cody. this afternoon we played host to thirteen little people full of personality, energy and creativity. For two and a half hours, we, sort of lead them through our six art stations, and we, sort of made some beautiful pieces. Kate was thrilled with the activity and having all her friends with her. The 13 kids jumped off every one of our walls so I think they had a great time too.

Kate I love you and I want you to remember this birthday bash because it just might be our last. With that said Aunty Candace reminded me that I've said that before. Perhaps birthday parties are like pregnancies, you need a full year to recover and you then you really do forget the pain.

I've included a pile of pictures today because there was a pile of activity. Enjoy!

Welcome.

First stop - the self portrait station.

Painting headquarters.

The Pollock stop.

Our version of Pin the Tail on the Donkey.

Cake decorating.

And they're off.

Aunty delivering the sweets.

It's official - she's six!

Is it me or is that a lot of kids?

Things of beauty.

 Pinning together our Picasso.

Wow.

Our Gallery:

Kate and I re-doing the Picasso a little more to our liking.

You know when people go to galleries and remark "My five year old could do that." Well, Jackson Pollock move over (in your grave), these kids really are giving you a run for your money.

Can you spot the real Pollock?

Thanks again Grammie and Aunty and of course Papa! I really and truly could not have done this without you and with that said, promise I  never will!

sweet - six

I'm not certain what seems more unbelievable, that our baby girl is six, or that Cody and I are the parents of a six year old. Either way - it happened and it happened fast!

Our baby Kate is a marvel and a mystery. She's so happy to be by herself with her vivid imagination for company but equally happy playing and exploring with her best friend - Elliott. Cody and I have been known to complain that she is in a world of her own, with that said I have never heard her complain that she is bored or seen her just sit around.

She loves drawing, writing, crafting, dolls, dessert, the outdoors and above all her blankie, Boo, her brother and I like to think us.

Below is a bit of a photo mash-up. No particular order, just photos we love of the girl that owns our hearts...

Happy birthday to you Miss Kate Bronwyn Jorgensen!

Love,
Mama, Papa, & Elliott
